Jeff Ralston, President of Boss Fire Protection

“Boss Fire Protection was built on a simple belief. DFW facility managers deserve better. They deserve more than rushed inspections and incomplete communication. They deserve advance scheduling, photo documentation, detailed reporting, a clear understanding of their fire protection equipment, and confidence that required maintenance is being handled properly. That is the standard we set from the beginning, and it is the standard we continue to deliver every day.”

Common Questions

Fire Extinguisher Service Questions

How often must a commercial fire extinguisher be inspected?
NFPA 10 requires a documented annual inspection by a qualified service company, on top of the quick monthly visual checks an owner performs. We handle the annual service, tag each unit, and track your due dates so nothing lapses.
What is the difference between a recharge and a hydrostatic test?
A recharge refills the extinguishing agent and repressurizes the unit after use or a failed inspection. A hydrostatic test pressure-tests the cylinder shell itself for structural integrity, required at 5 or 12 year intervals depending on the type, with an internal maintenance check at 6 years. We perform both and track when each is due.
Where can I get my extinguisher refilled near me?
We come to you across Dallas-Fort Worth. Recharge and refill are handled on-site during the service visit, or at our Dallas facility when a unit needs more involved work, so you are not driving extinguishers around town.
Do you do on-site service?
Yes. Inspection, recharge, refill, and most repairs are completed on-site at your facility with confirmed arrival windows and same-week scheduling. Units that need shop work are swapped so your coverage is never left incomplete.
What class of extinguisher does my facility need?
It depends on what you store and how you operate. Offices and retail typically use ABC dry chemical, commercial kitchens need K-class, electrical and server rooms often use CO2, and industrial sites working with metals need Class D. We assess your facility and place the right rated units with proper mounting and signage.
What happens if I fail a fire-marshal inspection?
We identify every deficiency, correct it, recharge or replace any failed units, and document the work so your Authority Having Jurisdiction can clear you. Financing is available so a needed correction does not have to wait.
